Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
At a party last night, I kept hearing the expression ‘everybody has their red line.’ So, when I got home, accompanied by my good friend Jack Daniels, I looked up the origins of the phrase.
Apparently it’s from the 1928 "Red Line Agreement" between the largest oil companies in Britain, the USA and France at the end of the Ottoman Empire. At the time of signing the agreement, the borders of the former empire were not clear, so to remedy the problem an Armenian businessman named Calouste Gulbenkian, took a red pencil to draw the borders of the divided empire.
Now ‘your red line’ has come to mean deciding what you’re prepared to put up with, before you take a principled stand against what is unacceptable.
It’s been truly shocking to see people I admire deciding that their own red line means it’s ok to travel to countries that have implemented, and are still implementing some of the most immoral, inhumane policies in history. It’s like witnessing Stalin’s Harvest of Sorrow, during which time millions of Russians were deliberately starved to death, and deciding to book an all-inclusive holiday to Minsk to take in the sights. ‘Enjoy the rustic charm, but watch out for the mass graves, comrades!’Â
How about a nice cruise up the Danube, or a dirty weekend in Berlin? In November 2021, Austria imposed a stay at home order for the unvaccinated, and there were fines issued for the un-jabbed who left their home for ‘unessential’ reasons. In Germany, from November 2021 to March 2022, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and most of public life, including health care, was closed to the unvaccinated.Â
If that sounds familiar, between 1933 and 1939 there was similar legislation restricting the rights of the Jews.
Fancy a barbie down under? Come to sunny Australia, a colony run by brutal prison guards. Or stay trapped in a Lord of the Rings tour in New Zealand, with Jacinda Ardern’s dystopian zero-covid policy, that has stopped people getting in and out. Thanks to this barbaric lunacy, these beautiful destinations have been destroyed for generations. Maybe forever.
How about the land of Mounties, maple syrup, and Herr Trudeau? In February 2022, a convoy of truckers known as the Freedom Convoy drove across Canada to join a protest in Ottawa. The protests were sparked by a mandate that required Canadian cross-border truckers to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The world watched as police were sent in on horses to arrest people, in some cases using the butt of a rifle. Trudeau declared it a national emergency, and began freezing the bank accounts of the truckers. A ploy used to squash dissent by all totalitarian leaders before him.
Tamara Lich, the brave woman who co-organised the Freedom Convoy, was hauled into a police van and has been in and out of prison on bail since.Â
She is awaiting trial. She’s also my heroine.
In April 2021, Artur Pawlowski, a pastor of polish descent, garnered media attention when he kicked health officials and law enforcement officers out of his church in Calgary. They had barged in to enforce mask mandates on Easter Saturday. Pawlowski called them ‘Nazi psychopaths’ and ‘sick, evil people.’ Then in May, he was arrested by the Calgary Police Service for holding indoor services, which the agency described as an ‘illegal in-person gathering’.Â
Pawlowski has recently been arrested again. What’s the charge, being a good man?
If a holiday to Niagara Falls doesn’t float your boat, there’s always America. The land of the free has imposed some of the most inhumane restrictions yet, and the FDA has approved jabs for six month old babies. Like Canada, America still discriminates against the unmasked and unvaccinated, especially in Democrat-run states like California and New York.Â
I’ve seen a few familiar faces living it up on their recent travels to the US, whilst apparently unconcerned about the travel ban on their unvaccinated colleagues. It sure is a far cry from the civil rights movement when people stood up to end racial segregation, discrimination and disenfranchisement, often at huge risk to their personal safety. Similarly, Gay people would still be in fear for their lives, if men and women of principle hadn’t taken a stand and demanded equality under the law.
Would you go to a country that refuses entry to someone based on their skin colour, faith, or sexuality?
In addition to the hundreds of thousands of deaths that have arisen from the immoral Covid policies, there is overwhelming evidence that the experimental Covid-19 mRNA jabs are causing significant harms and death. So perhaps it’s time people stopped pussy-footing around, and started calling the last two and a half years what it is: the subjugation and murder of humanity.
And if you’re choosing to go on holiday to these places, it might be time to grab a damn pencil and re-draw your red line.
Abi Roberts is a British stand-up comedian, writer and commentator.
I asked Covidians this question repeatedly, starting in March 2020 as Covid Hysteria and the associated tyranny was ramping up. Two years I kept at it.
I never got a single answer to this question, not once. *Not Once*. Only endless abuse and loss of friends and family.
The most terrifying outcome of Covid Hysteria is that 90% of people are now and forever servile to whatever The Man on TV tells them. Even to the radical detriment of themselves, their family, their friends, their neighbours, their society, their culture, their constitution, their economy, and of course even their own children.
Great piece from Abi. To which I would add the need, and this is easy for every one of us 'on this page', to have a solid 'red-line' regarding the boycotting of all bricks and morter establishments who refuse cash payment for services or products. Mass use of cash will make the introduction of CBDC that much more difficult. Recent figures suggest that this 'red-line' is already gaining traction.
